Candidate for
Director; McKinleyville Community Services District

This information is provided by the candidate

Since moving to McKinleyville over 16 years ago, I have followed the actions of the Board and staff, rarely missing a meeting. I am familiar with the District's financial reports, budgets, projects and activities over the years and that historical knowledge gives me an advantage as a new member of the Board.

I majored in accounting and business in college. I have had a varied work background as a paralegal, office manager and recruiter for a large law firm that specialized in corporate acquisitions, mergers and tax matters, prepared budgets and forecasted plant production for a large chemical company, and was an Administrative Assistant to one of the founders of one of the largest mutual fund managers in the U.S., investing 12 companies' daily cash flow ($1 to $12 million a day). I am also a licensed Realtor specializing in resale homes.

I am a charter member of Soroptimist International of McKinleyville, which awards scholarships to McKinleyville High School students, honors a student of the month, awards $1,000 to a woman re-entering the workplace, has donated trees to MCSD for beautification of Central Avenue and helps to fund the North Star Quest Camp held in the summer for preteen and early teen girls.

I am a member of the Humboldt Taxpayer's League and the current chair of its special district committee.

I have written numerous articles about McKinleyville Community Services District for the Humboldt Beacon. I have a column called "At the Races" appearing in the Humboldt Beacon that covers the auto races at Redwood Acres Raceway and this year was also a "Track Reporter" for Redwood Acres Raceway.
