Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Alex Grass

Candidate for
Mayor; Borough of Ambler

This information is provided by the candidate

Low Taxes- In the 2009 budget, real estate taxes were raised 29 percent for Ambler homeowners. I will veto ANY and EVERY budget that raises taxes. In a vulnerable economy, we need to let people keep more of their money. Instead of increasing taxes, lets comb through the budget and cut out unnecessary spending.

Safety- As Mayor I will oversee an excellent Police Department. I am so wholly dedicated to our officers that I will refuse the $2500 annual payment to the Mayor, and instead put it into the Ambler Police Department's budget. Not only that, but as soon as I take office I will institute a bi-annual Megan's Law notification letter that will let parents know where child predators live in the Borough, helping to keep our children safe. I also promise more foot patrol from our officers, to help deter and monitor crime on the ground level. I will work with my contacts in the county to pursue state-funded programs that cost the citizens of Ambler nothing, but pay Ambler police overtime to help combat reckless speeding, traffic law violations, and theft in the Borough.

Prosperity- Growth is good, but smart growth is better. I promise to work with the businesspeople of Ambler in order to encourage commerce, and I will strive to ensure that there is a suitable place to buy groceries for all of our citizens.
