Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Christopher M. Yatsuk

Candidate for
Council Member; Borough of Parkside; 2 Year Term

This information is provided by the candidate

The political outlook is troubling in Parkside. The absence of political diversity in our current representatives is disheartening. Parkside is not Republican, it is not Democratic. Parkside is neither white or black, nor purple or blue. Parkside is a culturally and politically diverse town. Parkside has a population of 2,200 (+) residents; each with their own opinion, with one common goal-the betterment our town.

I do not see the political right or the political left. I do not see color. I only see up or down. For example: UP: the Borough is approximately 600k in debt; let's bring that back UP towards zero dollars in debt. DOWN: Trash fees per house has risen 146% in 4yrs ($65 in 05, $160 in 09), a trash surcharge of $16, trash tax has risen from 54k in 06 to 120k in 09, and there's a 62% tax hike in borough tax. Let's strive to bring the tax burden DOWN.

Reducing Parkside's deficit can only be met if we meet our targets. If we don't make serious investments in science and infrastructure, we won't fiscally grow. Let's make sure that we meet our targets to put us on a pathway to fiscal growth. A fiscal growth on which we can build upon.

It is time for change in Parkside. We need to think progressively, innovatively, modernly, and openly. Let's seek out new, innovative ways to bring in growth. Let's modernize our plans, operations and policies. Let's endeavor for a bigger, brighter future.
