I am a proponent of protecting our present zoning. It was developed and reviewed by outstanding professionals and Township residents. It's purpose is to manage and control development for the entire Township. The key word is "entire". By any standard, the proposed change in zoning required for the proposed development would excede any densities now permitted. It would destroy the intent of the present zoning map. Change is inevitable but it does not, should not have a catastophic effect on the Township. The Charrette process conducted in Middleton Township was not a valid process. The plan, now represented as a product of the Charrette, is in actuality, a plan of DoverKohl and the Development Group. |
