Council Member; Borough of Lansdowne; 4 Year Term

Michael F. Schleigh is still relatively new to the area, but once he and his wife Shelley "Discovered Lansdowne" they knew that this is where they would want to start a life together. Now living on Lansdowne Avenue, they enjoy a lesiurely stroll from their home to the new venues our town has to offer in dining and entertainment. Michael is an attorney and works in Center City thus you can usually find him everyday waiting for the R3 at the restored Lansdowne train station chatting with fellow commuters or reading his newspaper. On the weekend, he usually can be found enjoying a coffee at the local café catching up on work or chatting with fellow customers. Michael is a Freemason and a Shriner and believes in the value of public service having grown up in Boy Scouts and earning the prestigious Eagle Scout Award. Michael is also a trustee of the Garden Church. Michael holds education in high esteem + Rutgers University School of Law in Camden (JD) and Temple University Beasley School of Law (LLM in Trial Advocacy). Michael loves being a litigator having gotten a taste for its as a law student representing tenants who were being wrongly evicted and successfully won a case against experienced attorneys in a tenant retaliation case winning a complete rent abatement for his clients. His wife, Shelley is the music of his life figuratively and literally. She is a professional violinst/viola, who teaches young chlidren to play the violin using the Suzuki method. Together they enjoy travelling, wine and fine dining, arts, and antiquing. Michael and Shelley look forward to expanding their family in the coming years.
