I have lived in Drexel Hill in the 1st district since 2002. My mom, wife and daughter live with me.

Currently, I am a national security manager for a guard services company. Prior to being in the private security sector, I was a police office from 1998 to 2004.

I got involved in politics because of my 10 month old daughter.

I wanted to take her to a nice Township park. I went to the Township website and couldn't find a listing of our parks. My neighbors weren't sure where all the parks were. Everyone told me that they take their children to Springfield or Haverford to go to the "nice" parks. There is a park just a few blocks from my house. It could be one of the "nice" parks but most of the playground equipment is old and rusted. None of my neighbors or me would take our children to this park.

I was pushing her stroller down Burmont Rd and noticed the trash along the street. I didn't see any Township trash cans between Garrett Rd and State Rd on Burmont.

I tried to cross Burmont Rd to get to the Wawa store. No crosswalk. Its tough to try to dodge cars with a stroller.

While we were waiting to cross the street, I looked up at the pair of sneakers hanging from the utility wires. Typically, sneakers hanging from a wire means its a place to buy drugs. I have seen at least 4 pairs of sneakers hanging from the utility wires in the 1st District.

At the end of my day with my daughter, I realized that someone needs to fix our Township. Fix the everyday issues that can improve our daily lives.

Through my police and security experiences and having good common sense, I know I can help our Township get better and restore our sense of community pride.
