Mission

I, Clyde Zimmerman, as a candidate for Brentwood Borough Council, pledge to the citizens of Brentwood Borough that, if elected, I will commit to obtaining the highest level of knowledge and expertise on the issues impacting the Borough and its citizens. I will strive to improve the quality of life, foster economic prosperity by supporting established businesses and promoting future growth, and ensure a clean, safe and sustainable community.

Vision

I will work with integrity and professionalism in a collaborative and cooperative manner with citizens, elected and appointed officials, borough employees, neighboring communities, government entities, and civic, economic, educational, community or other outside groups.

Ten Guiding Principles

Serve the Public Interest - I will serve the best interests of the citizens and seek to employ the most efficient and cost-effective methods.

Fiscal Responsibility and Stewardship - I will ensure taxpayers' dollars are spent in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Open Communications - I promote sharing ideas and information in a manner that is honest and respectful, resulting in an understanding of varying perspectives and interests.

Transparency in Government - I will provide the public with open and honest information that is easily accessible and readily understood.

Integrity - I perform my duties honestly and fairly with the public and one another.

Collaboration - I will build on the strengths of all decision-makers so that our Borough leaders may move forward as a team through ongoing partnerships with civic, economic, educational and other outside agencies.

Diversity - I recognize that differences in background, experience, culture, knowledge, interests and concerns add value to decisions resulting in greater organizational strength.

Inclusiveness - I recognize that everyone has a voice and an importance in making decisions.

Progressiveness - I respect the past, honor the present and embrace the future with an open mind.

Excellence - I am dedicated to ongoing personal and professional development so that I may achieve the highest ideals of public service.
