Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Jeffrey K. "Jeff" Eisenberg

Candidate for
Judge; Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas; District 5

The service that the courts provide to the public is very important. Every effort must be made to assure that each party, from the wealthiest and most powerful to the poorest and most disadvantaged, has equal access to the courts. This is accomplished in part by educating the public as to the functions and availability of the courts, providing free or low-cost services to those in need, and assisting those who require extra help in accessing the courts.

Recent cases of corruption also reinforce the need for tranparency in the courts. Campaign finances, court contracts, and operating budgets must be disclosed so that the public may help prevent the opportunity for corruption and abuse.

Lastly, all parties who appear before the court must be treated fairly. It is necessary to keep in mind that an indigent homeless person is just as powerful as a wealthy community leader. They both possess the same rights and are entitled to the same dignity and respect.
