Letter to the District

By Barbara J. Casasanta

Candidate for Judge; Magisterial District Court; District 05-02-25

This information is provided by the candidate
The following is a brief letter to the District outlining the Candidate's pertinent background and experience.
I wish to introduce myself and ask for your support in electing me as your next Magisterial District Judge.

Six years ago, you may have voted for me in the primary and general election. Thank you for your support and confidence. I ran then and I am running now because I believe that I am the best candidate to serve the community. I have always believed that every person deserves to be heard and treated with respect. It is the fundamental of fairness.

Some of you may remember my father, Walter Casasanta, who was elected to two terms as district judge several years ago. I share the same values as my father of fairness, compassion and an abiding love of justice. I am mature enough to know the difference between a true criminal action and a good person who has made a mistake. I have also learned that you can be firm but also fair, and I am not afraid to make tough decisions.

I come to you fully qualified and ready to serve the community. I was certified as a Magisterial District Judge by the Pennsylvania Courts in 2003. I am a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and a Pennsylvania Realtor. My experience spans government, as a former congressional aide, sales and management. This combination of education and experience give me a thorough understanding of all areas of the law that come before a magisterial district judge.

I am committed to serving the community full time.
