Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Hendrick Hudson Central School District

This information is provided by the candidate

My husband John and I have lived in this district for 13 years, and we have a daughter, Claire, who is a freshman at Hendrick Hudson High School. Professionally, I am both an attorney and an accountant. I currently work as a tax accountant for a small firm in Mt. Kisco. I am a former school board member in this district, having filled an unexpired term in 2001-2002. I currently serve as the community member on the school district's audit committee, a position I have held for the last three years. I have served as a volunteer for many service organizations in our community over the years, both in the schools and outside of them. I chaired the PTA Cultural Enrichment Committees at both Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School and Blue Mountain Middle School, for a total of eight years, and also served two years as the Blue Mountain Middle School PTA Treasurer. I have been an active member of the district's Parents Committee on Music for four years, and have helped to raise thousands of dollars for the music programs in our schools. I was a member of one of the district's original strategic plan teams, and served on the Frank G. Lindsey Elementary School site-based team.

I have worked with organizations outside the schools as well. I am currently a trustee of the Hendrick Hudson Free Library, and have been a director of the Hendrick Hudson Community Educational Foundation. For several years, I have served as a volunteer for the Croton Caring Committee, delivering meals to homebound senior citizens in our area. I have been active in Girl Scouts for ten years, and still lead an active troop.
