Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Thomas M. "Tom" Exton

Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Pleasantville Union Free School District

This information is provided by the candidate

First and foremost, we need to maintain our excellent educational program without overburdening the taxpayers of the school district in these extraordinary economic times.

As a walking community, we need to provide safe routes to our school buildings for all students. We must also create a learning environment that is safe and secure for our students while they are in school and in after-school programs.

Now that the High School renovation is underway, we must do everything possible to guarantee that this project is completed on-budget and on-time. While it is imperative that the construction work is high-quality, we must minimize the disruption for our students, faculty and neighbors.

We must continue to conduct the District's business in a way that is open and transparent. Through a cohesive effort by the community, parents, teachers, administrators, and the Board, we can reach our goals and fully serve our students.
