Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Leslie F. Blum (Cziner), M.D.

Candidate for
Member, Board of Education; Byram Hills Central School District

This information is provided by the candidate

A fundamental belief that an excellent public education is one of the best things a community can give to a child has led me to support the district with all the time and energy I can offer.

My academic background, professional experience and character make me a good candidate to work with the other board members to set goals and policies for our school district. I am a physician, with a Master's degree from Teachers College, and a former educational administrator. Raised with a strong ethic that drives me toward community service, I also support organizations aiding less fortunate children in Westchester County and around the world. I believe I offer a useful perspective, thoughtful judgment, and -- most importantly -- heartfelt respect for Byram Hills students and the staff who teach, inspire and guide them. My goal is to continue to strengthen our school district, in a fiscally responsible way, so that it can carry on its mission of enabling students to become "productive and responsible citizens of the 21st century."
