City Works Functioning works help the city tick like the gears to a clock. Without properly functioning city works the city cannot provide resources and services efficiently. A lot needs to be done to maintain and refurbish our city works.
A. Irrigation
B. Parks, recreation, and neighborhoods
C. Transportation Community A city is composed of its citizens; therefore peaceful citizens make a peaceful city. The community is key and should be put first and foremost. Growing in Cerritos I have seen many family difficulties, and especially with children. Be it big as suspension or little as falling grades, I believe these problems could be prevented with a closer family relationship.
A. Hold more programs to bring together family relationships
B. Listen and reach out to the community in fairness Crime Being a victim of a crime is never fun. As a victim of crime myself, I plan to eliminate this rise in crime despite the dropping economy. Most crimes can be simply avoided with careful planning and cooperation.
A. Promote Neighborhood Watch programs in neighbors, businesses, and schools.
B. Create and hold Neighborhood Watch committees
C. Create more jobs with increase in deterrents around the city Economy In the second recession within 10 years, our country is scarce of employment and hope. Although many cities and states have suffered immensely, Cerritos remains to be vigilant in this dry spell of business. Thus so, city spending must be essential and precise in both purpose and numbers to maintain current or better conditions.
A. Analyze and poll financial decisions
B. Reduce utility and commodity spending Education Currently attending Cerritos College and growing in the ABC Unified School District, I know first-hand that these schools often lack funding, resources, and proper student to teacher ratio. Recently our California governor made the decision to raise state tax by 1.5% and cut education spending by $160 million to balance the state budget in this economic crisis. Despite such a devastating loss, I hope to help our schools recuperate and prepare our youth for the future with counsel, contributions, commitment. A. Contribute more resources B. Open student internships C. Promote scholarships |
