Major Issues Affecting Our CityBy Edward Thomas "Tom" ChavezCandidate for Council Member; City of Temple City | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
If elected, some of the major issues/changes I would address as a priority. The city's most pressing financial issues are the lack of new revenue sources and the need for redevelopment, in particular the Piazza Project and the Las Tunas corridor. I will actively seek new businesses and work with existing business owners and the Chamber of Commerce to foster new and intelligent business growth. I will maintain and establish more quality and affordable programs for our senior citizens and youth, as well as create more open space in any new development plan for our citizens to enjoy. I will promote good relations between our city and school district, Chamber of Commerce and other organizations to identify where improvements can be made and complete projects for the betterment of the community. I will promote transparency and good ethics in city government and establish a broadcast of all city council meetings so we all have the opportunity to understand the critical issues facing our city. |
