Senator Pileggi believes everyone should have access to affordable quality healthcare.
Senator Pileggi believes everyone should have access to affordable quality healthcare and the Pennsylvania State Senate has been hard at work trying to accomplish that. Senator Pileggi has supported efforts to bring healthcare reform to the forefront by supporting technological advancements that will help to make healthcare more affordable while promoting preventative care, promoting more competition among insurance providers and working to keep doctors in Pennsylvania.

Senator Pileggi has worked with fellow legislators to draft a comprehensive healthcare package that would improve healthcare access and affordability in a fiscally responsible manner. "HealthNET PA is a $100 million blueprint that expands access to healthcare and medicine to over 500,000 uninsured and low-income working Pennsylvanians.

At the announcement of HealthNET PA, Senator Pileggi state, "we need to make healthcare more affordable and we can do so by using existing resources to fund this program."

In addition he has also supported Senate Bill 1137, a measure that extends the MCARE (Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error) program, and provides a financial safety net to help Pennsylvania's doctors cover their medical malpractice insurance cost. With this bill, doctors that are trained in Pennsylvania will stay and practice in Pennsylvania.

Senator Pileggi supports legislation that which will:

  • Improve Access to Healthcare and Medicines
  • Make Healthcare More Affordable
  • Expand Insurance Coverage
  • Provide tax credits for the use of Health Savings Accounts
  • Lower medical malpractice insurance so Pennsylvania doctors will stay in Pennsylvania
