For schools, give parents the power to choose and the information to choose wisely.
In many cities like Philadelphia, the schools fail too many students. The government promises to fix the schools - some day. Meanwhile, the government's inaction traps students in schools where they can't learn and where they aren't always safe.
Fair taxes, more jobs, cheaper energy.
Creating more and better jobs is central to building better lives for working families; but our current tax laws and business environment discourage businesses from starting and expanding here in Philadelphia -- the key to creating jobs that Philadelphians deserve.
Make sure violent crime is prosecuted.
For cities like Philadelphia, gun crime remains a problem. But laws already on the books give police, prosecutors and courts the tools they need to deal with the problem.

In cities like Philadelphia police do the hard work of arresting and charging suspects. But prosecutors often forgo pursuing gun charges, and judges often hand down lenient sentences. Too few gun criminals face serious consequences for crimes short of murder.
