Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Fern B. Kaufman

Candidate for
State Representative; District 26

This information is provided by the candidate

Dr. Kaufman has spent her life dedicated to healthcare as a licensed pharmacist having practiced in both outpatient pharmacies and predominantly in the inpatient setting as a clinical pharmacist. She has practiced in the hospital and on the administrative side of pharmacy currently directing the pharmacy operations for a 30 hospital faith-based health system with sites in eleven states from Maine to Florida.

A newcomer to the political realm, the issues of healthcare are imperative to Fern and the time has come for her to step into the world of public service. She hopes to bring her knowledge and expertise of the healthcare system full circle to help the state and her district in making Pennsylvania a model for efficient and available health care to everyone in the Commonwealth. A strong clinical and analytical background partnered with an array of sound business experiences will serve the citizens of the 26th Legislative District with passion and purpose spanning across each and every issue facing those trying to provide a safe, productive atmosphere to educate their children and live their lives.

There is much work to be done throughout the country to make us as great as we can and should be. While a State Representative may not be able to change the world, we can start at home, right where we live with our neighbors. If we all strive to change just a little bit of the world at a time, wherever we can, whenever we can, we will slowly start to see change everywhere. This begins with the discussion. Everyone bringing fresh ideas to the table and opening our minds to moderation. We all need to understand everyone's point of view to make real change happen, and real change is what Pennsylvania needs so that we take care of our senior citizens, actually educate our children and not have to test them constantly, treat animals with respect and kindness, support a citizen's constitutional right to bear arms yet be sure that we are responsible in protecting our citizens from the unlawful use of weapons and give ourselves a break from excessive taxes in a day and age where energy costs are skyrocketing and we are all having a tough time. Health care is one of the biggest crises we face and someone who has extensive knowledge of how the system works because she has been working in it for her whole career will certainly bring a new perspective to the discussion and ultimately the solution. It all begins at home, with us and with your vote.
