Candidate for
State Treasurer; State of Pennsylvania

This information is provided by the candidate

Upon completing my High School education in 1948, I worked for a year in the oil fields in western PA before entering Clarion State College. Graduating in 1953, during the Korean War, I enlisted in the U.S.Navy, and attended O.C.S. at Newport RI. I was assigned as a Communications, and then Operations, Officer on the U.S.Loeser,DE 680, for three years service. My duties included OOD, cryptographic officer, education, and acting Executive Officer.

While teaching secondary math and science in Oil City for five years, I attended Penn State University, getting
a M.ED. in 1961. I have subsequently received 61 additional credits in math, science, education, and philosophy.
I continued teaching in both PA and DE at the
secondary level for a total of 12 years. In 1969, I became an Assoc.Prof. of Mathematics at Cheyney State College (now Cheyney University) for 18 years. During this period, there was the opportunity to teach numerous courses, including Math. of Finance, Statistics, and Calculus.
As additional business interests, I worked as a real estate agent for 14 years, and also as a life insurance broker.
The opportunity to teach math at Valley Forge
Military College for two years came after I retired from Cheyney University. This was followed by a year at Grove City College. Also served as past Treasurer of the Keystone District School Board.
I am currently active in the Clarion County Historical Society serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and also a board member of the PA Gun Owners Association.
I have been a registered Libertarian since 1980,
active in both Delaware and Pennsylvania. We believe in limited government and lower taxes. I will see that there is no waste in the treasurer's office if elected. In addition, I will endeavor to do my fiduciary duties and to check the Constitutional basis for requests for payment. I would enlist the office of the Auditor General and the Attorney General as deemed appropriate for clarification of any possible "bonusgate" type of activity. Funds could be held in escrow temporarily to deal with the matter.
My wife,Rochelle, and I have three children and six grandchildren living in Pa., New Mexico, and Maryland.
We are strong supporters of Pro-Life legislation.
