Jobs and Taxes

By Michael A. "Mike" Dincher

Candidate for State Senator; District 23

This information is provided by the candidate
Pennsylvania must create a business-friendly environment by restructuring the tax system to encourage the expansion of existing businesses and the establishment of new businesses.
Job creation is a function of business through investment not of government. Government's role in job creation is to ensure a business friendly environment through appropriate taxation and regulatory policies. Not all of Pennsylvania 's job loss particularly in manufacturing is due entirely to NAFTA and GATT. Many of these jobs moved to other states, specifically those offering better conditions for business. Pennsylvania must become business friendly. Far too often we hear of politicians claiming to have created jobs when what they've really done is grown the government at taxpayer expense. Holding the line on tax increases and spending will help to create a better business environment. Tax shifting is not tax relief. Government officials at all levels have begun to engage new tactics to increase their ability to empty our pockets. The replacement of our local tax collectors with collection agencies will make the process of appeal more difficult due to the removal of the neighborhood "face" from that process.
