Biographical Highlights
  • Party: Democratic
  • Occupation: President of the Hamilton County Commission and an Attorney
  • I graduated from Colerain High School in 1976; from Oberlin College in 1980 and the University of Cincinnati College of Law with Honors in 1983
  • National Merit [commended] scholar at Colerain; inducted into the Oberlin College Athletic Hall of Fame; and named a "Colerain Distinguished Graduate"
  • I served on the Cincinnati City Council for eight years, Chairing the Law, Public Works and Intergovernmental Affairs Committees
  • I served as a volunteer on the Cincinnati Human Relations Commission and the Hamilton County Community Action Agency Board
  • I am the Chair of the Hamilton County Homeland Security Commission, the Solid Waste District, and the Transportation Improvement District
  • I am President of the Hamilton County Family and Children First Council and Vice-Chair of the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency
Top Priorities if Elected
  • We must keep the county's finances in order without raising taxes through strict budget controls, right-sizing the government and growing businesses
  • We need to implement our reforms of the criminal justice system to reduce crime and recidivism, and enhance public safety
  • We must focus on those improvements in transit, public health, the economy and the environment that will enhance the Quality of Life for all.
