HISTORY AND BACKGROUND OF POLITICAL CAREER
Dear Voters,

A brief summary about John Perillo

A life-long resident of Ossining, John was born in the old Ossining Hospital which is now the present site of the Star of Bethlehem Church. After high School, he ventured out and opened his own business which is still in existence and quite active today. John's passion for government began at the tender age of 18 when he questioned both the Village and Town Boards regarding his interest in towing; after being told that the government used only one towing company, he was inspired to pursue his quest and involving local news papers and legal counsel he accomplished his goals of compelling both governments to adopt a fair rotating towing list available for all companies providing these services. It was at this point of his life that he realized that in order to make a difference in change he needed to be part of the process. Giving back to the community and making a difference has become a passion for John in an arena in which he feels very comfortable in. John's experience in appointed and elected positions is extremely broad: In 1974 John was appointed to the Planning Board and the Board of Architectural Review, in 1981 he was elected Village Trustee in the Village of Ossining, in 1985 he was appointed to the Zoning Board of Appeals, in 1995 he was elected to the School Board of Education and in 2002 he was elected Mayor of the Village of Ossining. As Mayor, he was honored to represent and lead the community and his bi-partisan administration brought much needed change to the Village of Ossining; they worked effortlessly to bring forth many enhancements such as Reservoir Park, Arthur Jones Park, Village-wide beautification and signage programs, police accreditation, day workers shelter, work for hire program, the Italian feast, the Village of Ossining web-site and much more. He would be most honored to continue his efforts as a public servant and to contribute his time and energy to a team of elected officials in order to raise the bar and address all concerns and issues the community faces today. John has demonstrated that partisan politics has no place in government and asks you, the voters of all party affiliation, for your support on November 4th. John will appear on Row B or D.
