? 1. What are your Qualifications for Office? (50 word limit)

Answer from Eric Schmitt:

My son's illness has highlighted all aspects of the health care system. I believe that I can bring these experiences to Jefferson City and put people ahead of politics. My background in law and in local government as a Glendale Alderman will allow me to grasp a multitude of issues.

Answer from James Trout:

I'm a small business owner who knows the concerns of my district. I've brought opposing sides together for the common good of a project or a community being built and got the job done. I've been effective in Jefferson City on issues like campaign finance reform and smart energy policies.

? 2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (50 word limit)

Answer from Eric Schmitt:

I plan to tackle the gridlock between insurers, doctors and hospitals to ensure that was are putting patients' needs first. My history of building broader coalitions between both business and labor groups will enable me to achieve problem-solving solutions to the issues facing our economy.

Answer from James Trout:

The common theme of my priorities is based on the economic strength of the state, and we can all agree on that. I'll bring people together as I have in my work, find the common ground, and work with a sense of urgency to create the real progress we deserve.
