The county commission is the central agency of county government that performs both legislative and administrative duties. The associate commissioners are elected for two-year terms and represent districts of approximately equal populations within the county. All counties pay commissioners a salary. The duties include administer the county budget, manage the county road system and county property, hold hearings on and adopt the county budget, sit on the Board of Equalization, and represent the county on other boards.
