Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 28

This information is provided by the candidate
Every Californian deserves access to quality health care. Nearly one million children lack basic health insurance in our state. California should be a leader in providing basic health care coverage. In the State Assembly, I will bring people together to ensure that our children, working families, and senior citizens are protected and health care is a priority. I believe that medical professionals should drive health policy in California+not insurance profits.
Our health insurance system is in dire need of top-to-bottom reform. Employers can no longer afford to cover employees, and independent health coverage is too often out of a family's price range. We must tackle this problem, and make coverage more affordable for employers and, in turn, employees. In the long run, we must provide health insurance for all Californians. I am a proponent of universal health coverage for every Californian and would work to find innovative solutions to our health insurance problems. Public service workers should always have access to high quality and affordable health care.
