Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Marty Block

Candidate for
Member of the State Assembly; District 78

This information is provided by the candidate

Among the issues Marty Block will take a leadership role as the 78th Assembly District Member:

  • Job Creation and Economic Development
  • Educational Access and Excellence
  • Affordable and Accessible Healthcare
  • Improved Public Safety
  • Environmental Protection and Improved Quality of Life

As president of the Board of Trustees of the San Diego Community College District, a School Board member, and a leader at San Diego State University, Marty Block has too often faced the daunting combination of over-regulation and under-funding by legislators who don't always appreciate the diverse needs of California's system of public education. We can do better. Marty Block's unique experience as a leader for three decades in all segments of public education prepares him to play a lead role in efforts to enhance educational opportunities and, thus, reduce crime and spur economic empowerment for all Californians.

Marty Block will be a champion for all residents of the 78th Assembly District to ensure that our community receives its fair share of resources to improve educational programs and services, public safety, healthcare and the environment.
