Pacifica is my home. I grew up here. My family lives here. I believe in environmental protection, strong neighborhoods, sound commercial development, fiscally responsible decisions, excellent city services and government that really listens to the concerns of the residents.

Above all, I believe in Pacifica and in the future of our community.

It has been my honor to serve you on Pacifica's City Council. We have completed major projects, like the new police station, our excellent skateboard park, a new Farmers' Market, flood control, and major beach, trail and habitat improvements.

Plans are underway for Highway 1 improvements to relieve traffic congestion. Mori Point, Cattle Hill and San Pedro Headlands have been saved.

Even with severe budgeting limitations we have funded our libraries, supported the Resource Center, maintained programs for our youth and seniors, and significantly increased critical reserve funds.

We have carefully controlled residential growth and enforced hillside protection guidelines. At the same time, we have approved welcome new commercial development, and stepped up efforts to strengthen existing commercial areas. Much remains to be done, like updating our General Plan as a guideline for logical growth.

With your help and continued support, I look forward to the challenges.

Pete DeJarnatt
