As your Mayor it is my commitment to offer every resident of Coronado access through "Open Door" Saturday hours. Whether it's joining me by walking neighborhoods in Coronado to pick up any unsightly trash or sitting down in the Wynn room at our beautiful Coronado Library; I will be eagerly available and I will honestly listen to your ideas, cares and concerns. This access is unique by nature since there will be no microphones or recorders. We will talk friend to friend and openly communicate. This commitment applies to email, the city website and a city suggestion box where all residents will freely offer innovative thoughts to improve our city! I NEED YOU!

Additionally, my lifetime of corporate board experience, civic leadership, statewide and national political relationships make up a sum total of networking skills. I believe these networks and my cancer "survival" experience make me uniquely qualified, as your Mayor, to improve and protect the Coronado Hospital. The hospital facility is a true benefit to our community. I can draw on my extensive resources through innovation and cultivating ways in which our hospital can grow and flourish! As a 10+ yr. director of Blue Shield of California's advisory board of directors, I will apply the most creative of options brought to the table to increase visibility and revenue. Our Hospital's volunteers, through their charitable time and donations, have been invaluable to its survival. This is what we all love about Coronado!

Traffic! Third and Fourth streets are the main 'arteries' for Navy and civilian traffic, yet many roads in this city are affected by the early morning ingress and afternoon egress of vehicles. I have a number of 'Out of the Box' designs to mitigate this issue that have not been suggested or implemented up to this point. As your Mayor I will network with my friends Statewide at Caltrans, the Navy and the City of San Diego to come up with many needed alternatives. Over the bridge parking with shuttle bus transportation would reduce Navy automobile traffic. As your Mayor, my 30+ years of business connections, along with an ability to negotiate successfully with groups such as the California Faculty Association, (i.e. Success at collective bargaining with the California State University while serving as trustee of the California State University. I will work assertively with military 'top brass' as a political maverick who brings all parties to the table so together we will resolve traffic problems.

These are only three of the reasons why Tom Stickel, with a lifetime of entrepreneurial and political skills, combined with my 30 year Coronado residency, LOVES his hometown and seeks to be YOUR Mayor!.

Vote Tom Stickel for Mayor!
