To better inform voters I am providing a more complete Biography, from birth to present.

BIRTHPLACE: Detroit, Michigan on July 31, 1939.

CHILDHOOD: Lived in Detroit until February 1949 when the family purchased a small farm near the community of Jonesville, Michigan. Remained there until graduation from high school in 1957. At age 17, moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan seeking employment to earn money for college tuition. Hired by Michigan Bell Telephone Company, which was the beginning of a 30-year career in the telephone industry.

FAMILY: Wife, Jackie, and four grown children; Greg lives in Carlsbad, Todd in Alpine, Troy in Encinitas and Michelle in San Diego. We have seven grand children.

EDUCATION:

High School Degree, 1957.

Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, 1978. (Summa cum Laude, Class Valedictorian)

Master of Arts Degree in Human Behavior, 1988. (With Honors)

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

1975-76 Chairman, Boys Club Branch Board of Directors.

Rotary Service Club involvement since 1973. Served as Director of Club Service, Vocational Service, International Service, Community Service and held the following offices:

• 1977-78 President of the Del Mar Rotary Club. (Currently a member of the Encinitas Rotary Club.)

• 1991-92 District Governor Special Representative that formed and chartered the Del Mar-Solana Beach Rotary Club in May of 1992.

• 1992-93 District Governor Representative for Area 6 which included the Rotary Clubs of Del Mar, Del Mar-Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, Encinitas, and Encinitas-La Costa.

BUSINESS EXPERIENCE: Thirty years experience in telecommunications industry. Began career as a construction lineman and progressed through management positions in Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Corporate Staff, and Budget Administration.

Telecommunications career spanned three different Bell System Telephone Companies:

Michigan Bell Telephone, Kalamazoo, MI 1957-1963

Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph, Denver, CO 1963-1966.

Pacific Bell Telephone, San Diego/San Francisco/Los Angeles, CA 1966-1987 - Early Retirement

PUBLIC SERVICE:

Encinitas City Council, 1992-Present
