Below is my candidate ballot statement.

Statement of Larry Carr, Candidate for City Council, City of Morgan Hill Occupation: Incumbent/University Administrator Age: 39

I am running for re-election with a clear and positive plan for Morgan Hill: stronger partnerships with our schools, enhancing police services and improving public safety, moving forward on renovations to downtown, controlling growth by focusing on in-fill development and protecting our natural open space.

This election is about the future of Morgan Hill. But it is also about leadership. The kind of leadership we need to make tough decisions and move us forward. I am proud of our accomplishments during my term on the council but there is still much to do. We balanced our budget by becoming more efficient and making cuts. And now the challenge is to continue improving services for a growing community while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Morgan Hill is facing some of our greatest challenges and experiencing some of our greatest opportunities. We need leaders who are ready for the challenges, and prepared to take advantage of the opportunities. If you believe a candidate should be supported based on commitment to the community, track record of positive experience and results, energy and ideas then I would be honored to have you support my candidacy.
