  • I believe in giving back to the community.
  • I believe in working together with everyone.
  • We may not able to get everyone agree on the same thing, but we should treat each other with respect.
  • When our students succeed, the community succeed.
  • I believe when our students understand what we teach them, they can solve problems in real life, and should not have difficulty achieving high scores in standardized tests.
  • We should not push our students just to earn high scores in tests, we should focus on making sure they master what we teach them.
  • We should do our best preparing our students from the beginning, because in education, one level becomes the foundation of the next level. If the foundation is weak, it will be difficult to remedy once the students get to the higher levels.

  • I wrote this article in 2002, called Milpitas Circle of Education. I included portion of the texts here.

My ideas to promote better education for our children

I would like to introduce Milpitas Circle of Education, where teachers, parents, school administration, and community work together to promote better education for our children. The children will be at the center of the circle, where all of us work together to give them our best.

We will pay special attention to under performing students to close the achievement gap, at the same time improve all students' achievement.

High School grade honor studens earning community service credits by helping to tutor and provide extra help for students in the K-5 grades that are not performing up to grade level or are falling behind. Also recruiting retirees and other volunteers to help us tutor students and close the achievement gaps in our system. Volunteer parents, trained in workshops, helping other parents and coaching them in the best practices to provide a home environment for students that is conductive to learning and studying. Volunteer parents helping others' children when their parents have multiple jobs to make ends meet, high school honor students helping other students after school hours, parents helping teacher to better use the technology in the classroom.

After school activities, which enhance learning, and fun, such as art, music, sport, would enhance the children development.

None of these ideas should cost the school district large amount of money, all run and done by volunteers.

The return of investment will be tremendous. We will have more well behaved and educated children than trouble makers.

All of these combined will create a more pleasant working environment for teachers, which will attract and retain good teachers.

We can do a better job educating our children.

Our children are our country's future !. We live in a very competitive world. We must give them our best to give them a brighter future !.
