How would you describe a leader in your community?

By Toni D. (Conner) Colley-Perry

Candidate for Trustee; Sacramento City Unified School District; Trustee Area 5

This information is provided by the candidate
The qualities or characteristics that I feel are critical are flexibility, sensitivity, and a good sense of humor, hope, a willingness to forgive and forget, and a commitment to excellence.
A community leader is first a public servant. When I look to describe a community leader I look for an individual who has taken the time to assess their intent to serve. The intent, in which you bring to community service, will either unite or divide the community in which you have committed to serve.

My personal goals and interests are deeply rooted in the preservation of my family, community and city. I am committed to improving the quality of life of all human beings. Statistics are of great interest to me mainly because all my life, society has defined my reality by statistical assumptions. I have spent my life defying statistical assumptions. I want to assist parents with the support needed to help their children to be the best student they can be.

I am running to ensure that all students are prepared for success by improving district support services. I believe that classified employees, volunteers and parents are untapped resources that can help teachers reach the goal of academic success.
