Attraction of industries for higher paying jobs

By Brian Christie

Candidate for Council Member; City of Hemet

This information is provided by the candidate
Encouraging current businesses and helping them to succeed; paired with vision, planning, and responsible development of industrial and commercial businesses are critical to regaining and maintaining a stable and growing economic base in Hemet.
In order to attract more business and industry to Hemet, we need to look at both Economic Development (such as Parks, Police, Fire, Library, etc.) and Fiscal Development (the attraction of jobs through industry such as green technologies, research and development, and the light manufacturing sectors). I am dedicated to stream-lining the planning process and continue to encourage working with Economic Development Agencies. As potential industries look at relocation they also look at the quality of life within a community. This includes the quality of public and private schools (such as general, performing arts and vocational). I support our current community cultural events and beleive that the development of additional events in cooperation with the existing community will make Hemet the destination that is desirable in the eyes of companies looking to relocate.
