Public Safety

By Brian Christie

Candidate for Council Member; City of Hemet

This information is provided by the candidate
Public Safety is at the top of my list. "The challenges of Hemet`s Police and Fire departments are great. More than 20 years experience in public safety has allowed me to identify challenges and alternatives to correct them."
The increase of crime, gangs and drugs in Hemet is not acceptable and must continue to be handled quickly and decisively. I believe that it is time to get even tougher on criminals. My goal is to maintain police department staffing levels and target the gangs, drug dealers, and criminals who plague our city. Rapid growth has provided many challenges to the Hemet Fire Department, which has the highest demand for service of any city of our size, in the Inland Empire. This causes a longer responce time for firefighters to be able to help you. Additionally the Hemet Fire Department does not have paramedics on their fire engines. Fire Department Paramedics would provide a critically needed, higher level of emergency care. I will continue to strive to maintain the high level of service provided to the citizens of Hemet by our dedicated Police and Fire Departments.
