Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Carl W. Armbrust

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Canyon Lake

This information is provided by the candidate

If I am re-elected I will continue to devote myself to the residents of Canyon Lake for the betterment of our "bit of paradise". I believe that experience counts most when it comes to protecting our city and our assets. For example we still have a resident who is determined to tear down the walls and open up our lake to the public. This is a much bigger problem than Goat Hill and a real drain on our budget. Despite this problem and the economic downturn which has beset our country the so-called "good old boys" (your present City Council) has managed to continue to move your city ahead

The present Council recently adopted the 2008/2009 budget and I am happy to report that we were able to put away $64,046 into reserves while still providing the same or improved services to our residents. We presently have almost $4.9 million reserve balance (in the bank, drawing interest) which is close to two years of our operating budget.

In the last couple of years we have applied for and received almost $2 million in grants and reimbursements for our city. One of those grants was received from the Western Riverside Council of Governments ($1.3 million) and one of the "good old boys" (John Zaitz) is an elected vice-president of that organization. Experience and tenure is important.

A large part of our budget is for police and fire protection. We are still the safest city in Riverside County and one of the safest in the State.

When you vote, think of what you have and what you want to keep. A vote for CARL ARMBRUST is a vote for experiebce D0N'T PUT YOUR CITY IN JEOPARDY!
