CREATING A TRANSPARENT AND RESPONSIVE GOVERNMENT

Santa Ana needs a fundamental change in leadership. The combative political culture and gridlock that currently surrounds the city is impeding progress. Our government has avoided the responsibility and hard work necessary to improve the community.

Under my leadership, Santa Ana will begin a new era of government accountability and transparency. Our government can no longer remain complacent about our most vulnerable citizens. We need a new spirit of cooperation in our government to empower our citizens. I will strive to deliver a responsive, results-driven government that works better for everyone.

MAKING OUR STREETS AND NEIGHBORHOODS SAFE

Our city has neglected the necessary investments in infrastructure and safety that will attract visitors and businesses to help Santa Ana flourish. I want to make certain that our neighborhoods are a safe and attractive place to live, while maintaining their uniqueness.

To accomplish this, I want to focus on enhancing community policing. I believe it is one of the most effective ways to deter crime. By developing relationships with neighbors and identifying hot-spot areas, officers can cultivate strategies that address crime at its source.

MAKING EDUCATION A TOP PRIORITY

As an issue very close to me, education will be a top priority. I want to partner with schools to ensure that they are fully modernized, safe, and educationally appropriate for the future. Santa Ana's student body is unique in its needs and requires an adaptive response. I will advocate for rigorous approaches to education that will give our students the opportunity for success.

CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE BUSINESSES CAN THRIVE

With an uncertain economy, Santa Ana's lackluster environment for businesses must end. As the largest city in Orange County, Santa Ana has potential to be a premiere destination. We need to join our neighbors and enter the 21st century in order to prosper through economic development. Our city's practices, however, discourage the entertainment, restaurants, and cultural atmosphere necessary to make such a goal possible. I will work closely with all stakeholders and deliver quality services more efficiently. I plan to encourage entrepreneurship through programs that help citizens create small and mid-sized businesses in neighborhoods that have yet to be revitalized.
