I am a current/recent student of the two colleges of the NOCCCD ( Fullerton, Cypress ), and have a strong interest in the courses at the NOCCCD campuses at Anaheim and Yorba Linda, as well as the School of Continuing Education. After my eventual graduation, I intend to be a life-long student, because learning and education is a vibrant, beautiful, intense enhancement to one's life. It has been, for my own.

I served as Secretary of Inter-Club Council, with exemplary service ( I say with no modesty! ); Secretary of Region VIII of the Student Senate of California Community Colleges; and with student government at both colleges of the district --Senator and Senate Member ( Fullerton College Associated Students ); Programmer ( Cypress College Associated Students ). I served on several campus committees pertaining to the running of the school and the district: Within the colleges, I was a member of, or participated in committees and events: District Advisory Council; President's Advisory Council; Alumni; Curriculum; Study Abroad; Faculty Senate; Student Success Summit; NOCCCD Strategic Planning Session ( 2007, 2008 ). Attended/participated in the Student Senate of California Community Colleges General Assembly ( 2007 Spring; 2007 Fall --I ran for Senator-at-Large and applied to be the student representative on the Board of Governors ). Within student government, I served on the Judicial Committee, Homecoming, Programming and others. Attendance/participation at many NOCCCD meetings

I became interested in running for political office years ago, when the city I lived in didn't care about the bad sidewalks and lack of bus service. Didn't they care that many of us don't own cars? What about those who cannot drive, like young children and older people? Why must we be trapped and stranded, if we cannot walk long distances. My complaints didn't go far, then +my voice wasn't stronger than a stick-in-the-mud city council that wanted to remain elitist. Moving away from that rich city was one of the best things ever for me, because I learned the joys of living and working in a more diversified community +Fullerton, where I live and Cypress, where I have attended school.

I decided to run for NOCCCD Trustee ( Governing Board Member of the North Orange County Community College District ) in 2006 and again last October 2007. I made it a reality this year.

I am thinking about running for offices that attend to service for people, such as Public Guardian ( since I dislike how that office mismanaged my mom's case ).

Marriage and family: Yes, please ( LOL ). Whenever that question arises in questionnaires, I suppose it is for the candidate to thank and honor his/her family, who stuck by them through thick and thin. However, I am still single, but looking. Work comes first with me, and that may not sit well with some men.

If elected, I will certainly devote my attention to the proper running of the district, as well as whatever line of work I am in. Currently, I seek employment in my fields of study ( journalism/radio/TV ), but am amenable to other fields, as well.

My Civic Involvement includes: Participation in: Relay For Life ( with FC Lambda Society --to raise funds for cancer research ); L.A. Marathon ( 2003 )Pacific Shoreline/Surf City Marathon ( 2004-09 ) which benefits such funds as the Run for Mobility ( purchase of wheelchairs ); Fox Historical Theatre Society ( Fox Theatre ); buying/creating Christmas stockings for our soldiers stationed in Iraq ( with Alpha Gamma Sigma ); KinderCaminata ( showing young kindergartners the joys of community college ); videotaping Holocaust survivor Leon Leyson's speech in the FC Campus Theatre for the archives; coverage of the Health Symposium and drunk-driving-awareness town hall meeting; attendance at many Fullerton city council meetings.

I grew up mainly in California, spending some years in the Bay Area. I've lived in Fullerton since 1993, and feel a strong love for the city and community. I plan to remain part of this community for many years to come. It is a fine hometown.

I am a journalism major, still in community colleges, even though I am an adult older student. I was also a TV/Film major for two years, studying radio as well. I earned my certificate in TV/Video in 2006, and will earn my radio and journalism certificates in the future. I was a weekly newscaster on KBPK-FM, and produced commercials/public service announcements and feature spots. Currently, I am doing 5-minute features on KTST-FM.com, and hope to become a voiceover artist. I also would love to work in television. My field trips to KABC studios were a joy +it felt like home to me. I took classes in video editing, studio work ( camera operator, director, producer, audio, CG, TelePrompter, screenwriting, scriptwriting and more ). Currently, I work camera crew, direct, produce at Time-Warner's cable TV studio ( located at Buena Park High School +right now, there are worries about continued funding, so support your cable access TV provider! ).

I worked as copyeditor/writer/photographer at The Hornet ( Fullerton College ), writer/photographer/videographer at The Chronicle ( Cypress College ), videographer/photographer/writer at The Coast Report ( Orange Coast College ), and copyeditor/writer/photographer/videographer/Editor-in-Chief of Crystal Clear News Views and Reviews, my own independent online publication, of which I hope to continue into a paper version ( and for which I seek writers and contributers, hint, hint contact me, and work with me! ).

I have been member of several campus clubs: Phi Theta Kappa ( the International Golden Key Honor Society ), Alpha Gamma Sigma ( the California Honor Society ), Invisible Students Union ( founding member ), Film Club ( Vice President ), and others. ( See my resume and other papers for these ).

AWARDS: Journalism Association California Community Colleges: FIRST ( 2007), Honorable Mention (2005, 2006 ) Broadcast News Writing.

Fullerton College Associated Students: Senate Leader of the Month of October 2007; Certificate of Merit ( May 2007 ).

Inter-Club Council ( Fullerton College ): Certificate of Merit ( May 2007 ), and for Club Officer Merit and ICC Oficer Merit ( May 2008 ).
