Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Brian Kalinowski

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Antioch

This information is provided by the candidate

I'm proud of my work on the Antioch City Council to improve our quality of life and provide better city services. My priorities are:

-Promote Economic Development and Create Jobs. I have worked to attract new, good-paying jobs close to home. Bond Manufacturing, Kaiser Permanente and Wells Fargo are adding jobs in Antioch. I want to bring even more of these types of economic development projects to Antioch.

-Protect our Neighborhoods. As a Sheriff's Lieutenant, I understand that in order to improve safety in our neighborhoods, community-based programs must partner with local police. I support hiring more police officers and putting them on our streets, not behind a desk. I took the lead in pushing for an emergency curfew ordinance that was later made a permanent curfew to keep our kids safe.

-Invest in Infrastructure. I have been outspoken in my support for ensuring infrastructure improvements are in place before allowing more development. I will fight for the additional $31 million needed to widen Highway 4 and complete the Hillcrest Avenue interchange and bring e-BART to Antioch.
