Continue to Enhance and Implement our Community and Economic Development Plan

By Ed Balico

Candidate for Council Member; City of Hercules

This information is provided by the candidate
Continue to enhance and implement our community and economic developement plan for the future of our children, our community and its future.
Our city is one of the few cities in California that is a low property tax city. With this given, we continue to find new revenues now and for the future especially now that the state's revenue is unstable and keep borrowing money from cities to cities to balance their budget.

The next five years is a critical path for our city with respect to our economic development infrastructure. Projects such as the Waterfront Development, Water Transit (Ferry Sevice to San Francisco), Amtrak Station-Capital Corridor, Downtown Sycamore, The New Town Center, The Entertaiment Corridor and fully develop the Northshore Business Park. These projects are pedestrian friendly, bicycle friendly and neighborhood freindly.

As a member of the city council, I will continue to work with our city council and all other agencies to deliver all the above mentioned projects. Create new jobs and keep improving our city revenue by working with the different business communities to relocate and/or open their business in our city. Encourage development that our community oriented, that our community want, that are caring and are environmentally sensitive.

I have established excellent working relationship in all levels of government agencies and alike that can assist us in delivering our projects, progams and infrastructures that we need for the future of our city and the rest of the region.
