- Public education is at a crossroads. Many children are failing to achieve success. Now is the time to act.

The No Child Left Behind Act needs to be reexamined. It has left in its wake children who are uninspired and teachers who are demoralized. We must get back on track and restore the joy to learning.

If we take the steps necessary to ensure that children are capable of reading before they leave third grade, many of the later difficulties which lead to students dropping out can be avoided.
- Preparing students for college is great, but what about those other kids?

Focusing a disproportionate amount of our resources on strictly academics, we do a disservice to those children with other talents.
