I have a passion for kids and education, and I want to be the catalyst for the change that I want to see in our community.

The overwhelming success of Measure I is a clear indication to me that Hayward residents value their children and the future of their schools. I want to build on that momentum and ensure that Measure I funds are spent on what voters intended: improve safety and learning by providing up-to-date classrooms, wireless technology and access to individuals with disabilities. With my experience in the school system, public administration and accounting, I can contribute a working knowledge of the planning and budgeting of the funds generated by Measure I. It is critical that those funds are wisely used so that future components of the measure will pass.

As a Board of Education trustee, my other priorities are to:

  • Build respect for the HUSD
  • Build pride in our schools
  • Ensure our children have safe and clean schools
  • Work to decrease the drop-out rate
  • Improve access for students with disabilities
  • Ensure textbooks are available for each and every student
