Lower rates!!

By Dan Scannell

Candidate for Board Member; Dublin-San Ramon Community Services District

Past Accomplishements and Future Priorities
I first ran for this office in 2000 because I thought the water and wastewater rates were too high. After you elected me to my first term, I worked diligently to oppose rate increases, cut costs, and lower rates, and as a result, our customers now have the lowest water and wastewater rates in the Tri-Valley area (for example, 30% lower than Livermore residents). In 2004, I ran for re-election, and one of my priorities was to reduce rates to San Ramon and Dublin schools. As promised, I was able to successfully implement lowered rates to our local schools. Today I am running for re-election, and one of my priorities is to reduce rates to seniors. Specifically, I am hoping to partner with the city of Dublin and provide a lowered rate structure to seniors using income the District receives from rental fees associated with cellphone towers on District property. Pleasanton has a lowered rate structure for seniors, and we can too. If you have any questions, or any ideas on how to improve our water and wastewater services (or if you would like to put a "Re-Elect Dan Scannell" sign in your front yard), please contact me at home (925) 833-3784 or by email: danscannell@msn.com. Thank you, and thanks for voting!
