Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Linda Perry

Candidate for
Councilmember; City of San Leandro; District 2

This information is provided by the candidate

Dear Neighbor:

Tough times require experienced, proven leadership that can "hit the ground running" to meet the many challenges facing San Leandro in the next few years.

I have lived my entire adult life in San Leandro. I see first-hand the diverse needs of our working families and children. Seniors in my neighborhood are struggling to make ends meet. Crime is increasing. The next Council will decide on revitalizing Downtown, the BART TOD, Marina/Shoreline, and Kaiser developments. Impacts must be addressed. Our neighborhoods need help.

This is why I am running for City Council. Since age 16, I have been actively involved in San Leandro. I am an independent voice. I will demand neighborhood input and focus on improving the quality of life issues for all of San Leandro. Together we can make a better city!

My priorities for San Leandro:

  • Improve Quality of Life: childcare, available healthcare, affordable housing, jobs, neighborhood vitality, green space, recreation opportunities, senior needs, libraries
  • Work closely with both school districts
  • Increase economic development and jobs
  • Improve public safety--police and fire-- to deal with increasing crime and emergency responsiveness.
  • Fix infrastructure and transportation.

In the June election, I received 42% of the vote in a three-way race--11% more than the next candidate. I ask for your vote in the run-off election November 4th.
