Kasie represents the city in a number of business and government forums at the county, regional and state levels including the Regional Planning and Legislation and Governmental Affairs Committees of the Association of Bay Area Governments and the boards of the Livermore Amador Valley Transportation Authority and the East Bay Division of the League of California Cities.

Prior to her election to the Council, Kasie was active in local government and civic affairs, serving on the Parks and Community Services Commission, the Alameda County Transportation Authority Watchdog Committee, the City of Dublin Housing Element Task Force, and the City of Dublin Art in the Park Task Force.

Joining with other concerned residents in 2000, Kasie was one of the co-founders of Friends of Dublin. Originally established to involve the growing population of the newly-developed eastern portion of the city in municipal activities, it quickly grew into a city-wide organization dedicated to enriching the quality of life in all of Dublin through involvement in local organizations, business, and government. In 2002, Kasie was nominated as Dublin Resident of the Year for her work with Friends of Dublin.

Kasie remains involved in a number of community organizations. She belongs to a local book club, is a member of the Dublin Historical Preservation Association, and serves on the boards of the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation and of the Dublin Sister City Association. In 2007, Kasie traveled to Jinhua, China, Dublin Sister City's newest partner, where she met with political and business leaders, school officials and residents in an effort to promote friendship and partnership between the two communities.

Kasie has tirelessly worked on the annual Dublin Pride program to promote hometown spirit, bringing together volunteer projects, food drives, water wise workshops, and education on how to keep Dublin "Green." She represented the City Council in the creation of the Dublin Pride Integrity in Action Committee, a partnership between the City of Dublin, the Dublin Unified School District, and the community to promote positive character traits throughout the city.

Kasie lives in east Dublin with her daughter Madison. Her older daughter, Heather, is a senior at California State University Fullerton. Kasie is an active parent at Dougherty Elementary, having served on the boards of the School Site Council and Parent Faculty.
