  • Student safety and academic performance, including major reform of our high schools
  • Ensure delivery of the school improvements promised by our first school bond passed in 45 years
  • Maintain fiscal solvency during the current budget crises caused by the state, while minimizing impact to students (as we did four years ago)

We have overcome serious challenges and achieved great successes over the last five years. We need to keep the momentum going and build on it!
Next Steps for HUSD
We have a new and more difficult budget crisis confronting us, which will require difficult additional budget cuts, while trying to maintain our gains and minimize the negative impact to students.
