I am an experienced businessman and attorney who understands the challenges facing businesses, from startups to large employers. I am a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Legal Officer (CLO), and a former Vice President of Global Services for a publicly traded enterprise software firm.

My college and postgraduate education have given me invaluable education, training, and experiences to help address our state's challenges. I hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of San Diego School of Law, and am a licensed attorney in the State of California. I also hold a Bachelor's of Business degree from the University of Texas.

I attained my J.D. as a returning student because I intended to apply my legal education in the public interest. In my studies, I was fortunate enough to study with some of the nation's leading Constitutional scholars, including the late Prof. Bernard H. Siegan. I have researched and written numerous newspaper articles on the issues of our Constitution, Free Speech, Property Rights, and our Democracy.

My undergraduate education and experiences gave me a great personal understanding of the challenges facing students today with skyrocketing college tuitions. I overcame great financial challenges in gaining my undergraduate degree. Like many children of working class homes, I lacked the financial resources to pay for college expenses and had to work long hours at low wage jobs to keep a roof over my head and put food on the table, while finding time to study and attend class. I value education because it is education that gave me the opportunity to work hard and become successful.
