Jeff believes that Northern California should be investing in a diverse economic strategy to help insure the creation and long-term sustainability of better jobs for working families.

This future mosaic of sustainable economic development will not be possible without the proper modern infrastructure which has to include expanded broadband service for all areas and citizens. Jeff has been a proponent of expanded broadband coverage for Northern California and is proud of the successful establishment of Redwood Coast Connect which will eventually provide much needed broadband coverage to many areas of Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity County. Jeff views broadband as the great economic equalizer much as electricity was in the 1930's and is working with both state and national leaders to increase the expansion and availability to rural and urban areas.

Northern California has enormous economic potential on many levels including sustainable forestry /agriculture, tourism, recreation, clean energy generation and educational facilities development. Unfortunately many of these have not been approached in a comprehensive fashion over the last 20 years and opportunities with the public and private sectors continue to pass us by. Jeff Morris is keenly aware of these windows of opportunity and is committed to bringing real living wage jobs back to the citizens and communities of Northern California.

Jeff also believes that a change in the United States' overall financial policies will be required in order to move our economy back to a less volatile position. The current failed policies that are in place have spawned a massive growth in our national deficit, loss of jobs and national industry due to unfettered free trade agreements and the risk to our very currency with the irresponsible accumulation of debt to other countries in order to fund the Iraq War. Jeff believes that new responsible fiscal policies must be implemented in order to pull out of our current financial nose dive. It will take some time to recover but Jeff believes that there are sensible solutions that can place our economy back on stable ground.
