Economic/Small Business Growth

By Judy Jones

Candidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 73; Democratic Party

This information is provided by the candidate
My economic priorities will emphasis small businesses and new green technologies.
Economic development is critical to my district and California. I will promote new businesses with incentives and low interest loans to entrepreneurs and especially to those establishing new green businesses. I will work on the small business issues of disproportionate government paperwork and regulations, workers comp, and others to stop the flight of businesses from California. I will work with all existing businesses, including the small, entrepreneurial companies in science, health care, tourism, food and sports products, for a stronger economy in my district, including the requirement of local resources in local government projects.

My business development priorities include:

  • Create an atmosphere of free enterprise, creative innovation, prosperity and secure jobs.
  • Reduce worker compensation rates and increase incentives for businesses to incorporate and invest in the State of California.
  • Create incentives for those innovators in the alternative fuel field with an emphasis on creating environmentally sound jobs.
  • Implement a health care tax credit for small businesses.
  • Ensure that all government projects be contracted with businesses operating in the immediate area of the project to better support the local job market and economy.
  • Oppose outsourcing of public and private sector jobs and the privatization of necessary California government services. Promote low interest rate loans to small businesses for the purpose of launching a new business or expanding an existing one.
