Laurette Stands for a Clean Environment...

The San Fernando Valley measures the most polluted air in the nation. Asthma is the leading cause of absenteeism in school. Laurette has been a front line advocate for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the state. As a board member of the California League of Conservation Voters, the oldest state environmental legislative advocacy group in California, Laurette lobbied Sacramento to ensure the passage of the historic Global Warming Bill (AB 32) which mandates a 25% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by the year 2020.

Laurette Stands for Affordable Housing and the Middle Class...

As a homeowner and self made business women, Laurette understands the financial challenges of owning a home and running a business on a daily basis. Her fifteen years of real world experience in the private sector has honed her financial skills. As your State Assemblywoman, Laurette will work hard to provide you with affordable housing and reliable mass transportation.

Laurette Stands for Universal Healthcare...

Approximately 6 million people in the state of California do not have health insurance. Poor health accounts for increased absenteeism in the work place, and healthcare expenses are a factor in 50% of all personal bankruptcies. Healthcare policy must provide a pathway that will mandate realistic de- ductibles and affordable premiums for working families. Laurette is committed to the creation of a fiscally responsible healthcare program in the state of California that will address all of these issues.

Laurette Will Fight for Our Fair Share of State Resources... According to the Rose Institute, of the 7 major cities in California, Los Angeles is second-to-last in state allocations. Last November, voters approved over 40 billion dollars in infrastructure bonds and as your Assembly member, Laurette is committed to making sure that the San Fernando Valley receives its fair share of state infrastructure bond funding.
