Smart Voter Official Statement for Will Pier

Candidate for
County Supervisor; Sonoma County; Supervisorial District 1

This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

As your Supervisor, I will lead our County to a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren. With my experience I will help develop a water management plan, promote green building and industry, and foster a thriving local economy. Support SMART rail, increase bike paths and public transportation. Affirm open space and agricultural land preservation, and local farming. Implement a "zero waste" program ensuring viable County management of waste facilities. Revive County health care services and facilities, increase recreational facilities, and encourage programs for seniors, youth and disabled.

I have enjoyed living in Sonoma County for 38 years with my wife Anna, raising six children. My present work is creek habitat restoration and education; for 20 years I worked in building and remodeling. I serve on the Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission, Local Task Force for the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency, and Salmonid Restoration Federation board, and previously on City of Sonoma Community Services and Environment Commission (11 years). My education (SRJC; UC Berkeley, B.A., Geography; and Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy) gives me a depth of experience to make informed decisions.

Listening to your concerns will guide my actions as your Supervisor. Thank you for your vote.
