I am a builder blessed with a wonderful family, my wife Svetlana, our 4 year old Katya and mother-in-law Layma. For almost thirty years in Sonoma County's Fifth District I've demonstrated strong visionary leadership helping people, protecting our environment, developing our economy, supporting the arts and advocating increasing government effectiveness. My journey ranges from youthful idealist fighting wastewater discharges in the Russian River, including covering downtown Santa Rosa with cow manure from a broadcast manure spreader ("Manure Man"); to currently serving as Supervisor Mike Reilly's appointee on Sonoma County's Economic Development Board and twice elected chairman of the Russian River Redevelopment Oversight Committee.

Since 2000, average household income in SonomaCounty declined2%while Sonoma County's employee compensation increased 70% (average salary plus benefits, 4000 public servants, $112,000/year with over 700 earning $150,000-$310,000/year). We must reform and reallocate our time, talent and treasure toward greatest benefit. We have moral obligations to protect the poor and victimized, to educate our children and help at-risk youth, succeed. We need more resources for environmental protection, mental health services, struggling non-profits, volunteer and faith based organizations. Your vote supports pragmatic progressivism. As your Supervisor I will embrace ALL toward creative and innovative solutions. "Together Toward a Sustainable Future."
